How This Site Works

This site will allow you to reserve a great camping trip. On the Home page for the reservation system, below the park logo, you will see a row of menu selections that allow you to view the Home Page, Browse Maps, review your Reservations, review Information about park policies and a Help menu option.

Below the row of menu selections is a line that provides you with a status of whether you are logged in to your account or not.  If you hadn't logged in, the left side of the navigation line would have the words "Sign In". If you click on the "Sign In" words you will be asked for your email address and your password. Once valid entries are made, the Navigation line displays your name and the Login selection is changed to "Sign Out" so that you can sign off of your account when you are finished.Once you have signed in you will have access to view, change or cancel your reservations.

You do not have to sign in to your account to use this website.  You can view maps and check for availability for any reservation types (Campsites, Yurts).  If you want to review your account or reserve a site you will have to sign in.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you start using this reservation system and you become inactive for more than 20 minutes, you will have to restart your activities by reselecting one of the menu selections.

Making A Reservation

When you click on the Reserve button you will be asked to Login as a returning customer or signup as a new customer.
Once you are logged in, you will be presented with 6 steps to complete your reservation:
  1. Once you have clicked on the Reserve button you will be asked to Login as a returning customer or signup as a new customer. If you had already logged into your account you will be shown a table with all the information you have selected and ask you to confirm that it is correct. You will also have to confirm that you will abide by all park policies
  2. This page asks you to review your contact information and click "Next" if everything is correct. If your contact information has not been entered into your profile you will have to enter all of the details
  3. The person making the reservation is considered to be the Reservation Holder. The person who is actually going to use the reservation is considered to be the Permit Holder. In most cases the Reservation and Permit Holder are the same person; hence, the user would select, "I will be the permit holder". Since a user can book sites for other people this step allows you to specify a permit holder other than the user. If this option is selected, the user can enter the contact details for the Permit Holder. The Permit Holder is the person who will be sent a confirmation letter
  4. During this step you can acknowledge whether or not you are eligible for a discount rate. If you are not eligible, select "Regular" from the dropdown list. Otherwise, select the discount rate that is appropriate
  5. The system will calculate the appropriate fees and request a credit card number in order to guarantee your reservation
  6. Your request for a reservation is now ready to be processed. Click the "Finish" button to complete your reservation. You will then be shown a message indicating that your reservation is being processed

If your reservation is booked successfully you will receive a transaction reference number.

From this page you can click on "View Reservation Details" to view the details of your current reservation. You can print this page by using your web browser's printing capabilities. You can also click on "View Your Reservations" to view a list of all your current and cancelled reservations.

If you wish to continue browsing for a site in a different campground or park you follow the link back to the appropriate region, park or campground level and begin the process again.

Always remember to read the screens carefully for additional help.

Color Blind Assistance

Many of the features of this site rely primarily on colour to convey information. For example, available sites are coloured green on maps and sites that are not available are coloured red. Wherever colour has been used to convey information additional visual indicators are provided. Whenever site availability is shown on a map, we also adjust the font size of the site number to show availability; a large, bold font is used for available sites, a smaller font is used for sites that are not available. A 'mouse-over' that will show the availability status and service level of the site if you hold the mouse pointer over the site icon.

Colours and icons are used to show availability on the Availability List and Calendar views. Different icons are used to represent availability in these contexts. The icons are described at the top of the availability list page and in the legend tab.

Accessibility Assistance

While many parks have campsites that can accommodate wheelchairs, some parks have designated sites that are particularly suitable for wheelchair users. Wheelchair accessible sites are shown on the maps with a blue site number. If you require a wheelchair accessible site, you can locate these more easily by applying the Wheelchair Accessible search preference under the More Search Preferences heading. Availability information will then only show locations and sites that are available and are classified as being wheelchair accessible.

Accessible facilities, washrooms, etc. are marked on park maps with a wheelchair symbol. If you have any other requirements or need more specific information about the suitability of a campsite, please contact the park directly, the call centre cannot assist with this information – the contact information for the park can be found by clicking on the ‘More Info’ link for the park.

Availability Tools

This site provides several approaches to availability searches. There are three main viewing options:
  • The Map view is a good choice if you want to see how close a site is to park facilities.
  • The Availability List will quickly show which sites are available based on your search criteria.
  • The Availability Calendar is very useful to view availability for a range of dates and sites.

If you enter dates in Step 1 in the panel to the left of the main screen, all subsequent views will show availability based on those dates. Using the maps and List views, you will be able to see which parks, campgrounds and sites are available.

You can refine your search by entering information into Step 3 on the main page. Each selection you make may affect availability and this will be shown on the maps and lists. If you are looking for particular site features, try using the ‘More Search Preferences’ section to limit your search to sites that match your selections.

If you have a particular site you like and you want to know when that site is available, the easiest way to do this is to find the site on the map and then select the ‘Site Calendar’ option on the site description panel. This will show you the status of the site on a calendar and you can move forwards and backwards by month using the links provided. You can then use this information to enter dates in Step 1 on the main page.
